What is “Ink-2-Ippon”?

Riverside Youth Judo logo with a blue and yellow emblem featuring a judo figure, surrounded by text and Japanese characters.

For several years, my father and I have tossed around the idea of sharing the many amazing stories we have heard, seen, and been apart of during our time managing the Riverside Youth Judo Club, currently the largest judo club in the country with over 400 active members of various abilities and needs. We both are big proponents of storytelling — him being the more business-minded while I am the more creative-focused — and it came naturally to consider the possibility of creating a blog instead of just social media.

Ink-2-Ippon is intended to be a combination of personal meditations, martial arts business exposition, and motivational storytelling excerpts that some may find useful, or at the very least interesting to consider. This page isn’t meant to be a space to make money — though any money raised on this site will certainly help with hosting costs and minor judo club purchases, as an FYI — and we simply want a space to tell our story to inspire others so they can take these lessons from the ink… to ippon!
